Navy Submariner Marries Horse Loving Girl!

On a cool and sunny autumn Saturday, November 2, 2019, Suzanne (Suzie) Cairns and Navy man, Garrett Zimmerman, married each other before family and friends at the Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church on Bainbridge Island, Washington, followed by a chic barn reception at Red Cedar Farm and smoked alligator from Bubba’s Country Cue in Poulsbo. Their wedding day began with a sweet and beautiful First Look, followed by family photos, the wedding ceremony, and a romantic, fun-filled reception where guests danced, enjoyed petting the farm animals, played pinball, or sat outside by the fire-pit. Capturing Autumn's Foliage over 24 Hours in the Puget Sound

It’s late October and time to get outside and enjoy the golden sunshine and the cool days — where wearing your favorite sweater is about all you need! Take a refreshing ride on a bike along a forest path covered with autumn leaves or walk in a park and just listen to the beautiful silence of nature. Enjoy, brilliant fall colors: crimson, amber, golden yellow, taupe, and orange —eye candy. And…it’s all here in the Pacific Northwest. Two Souls Unite Together in Lovely Baha'i Faith Wedding

Congratulations to Caroline and Cameron Johnson! They married on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at the Kitsap Golf and Country Club surrounded by family and friends. Michelle and Nicole got engaged on the beach and we’re married on a beautiful summer day, near the water, with their family and friends at Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort on Sunday, July 21, 2019. Love is a great adventure! Lily and Aaron met each other in third grade. And since then, they dated for eight years sharing friendship, faith, and life’s experiences. They married each other, after a two year engagement, on a beautiful spring day, on May 4, 2019, in the presence of family and friends at Lincoln Avenue Bible Church in Bremerton, Washington, followed by a grand reception held at Port Gamble Weddings & Events. Plan Your Wedding Photography When the Light is Most Flattering.

Have you ever heard that photographers chase the light? It's true. The most flattering, warm, light is early in the morning from sunrise to about 10 am in the morning and after 3 pm in the afternoon to sunset. This is when the golden and pink light happens for magical photographs.  Below are several images from weddings which we had fantastic light because of the weather and the time of day in which the photos we're taken. First photograph was taken in the morning for the First Look; middle photograph at sunset; right photograph mid-afternoon about 3 pm.

I know brides and grooms have a lot to cover when planning your wedding. I understand and I'm here to help! Have a conversation about wedding photography with your photographer and learn from them when the best times are to take your beautiful pictures. Trust their expert advice. Ideally, if you can, please try not to have your wedding ceremony at noon. The light is harsh, intense, and can cast a lot of unflattering shadows. Your photographers will use fill flash and reflectors (when possible), however Mother Nature can be tricky.

Congratulations! You just got engaged and would like to work with one photographer who can do your engagement photos and your wedding photography. But how do you choose a photographer when there are so many portrait and wedding photographers to pick from?

Do a Google search for photographers in your area. Review the photographers work on their website and Social Media pages. Look at their reviews. Ask yourself, do you like their photography style and the variety of work they advertise? Can you visualize spending time with the photographer, getting along with the photographer, and being comfortable with them for the photo session? Does the photographer advertise they can do both engagement and wedding photography?  

Next, contact the photographer and schedule a time to chat and meet them in person. Ask a lot of questions and build a relationship with the photographer. There are many qualified and talented photographers in the market place; however, by doing a little homework and setting aside some time to get to know the photographer, you will gain great confidence that he/she will do a fantastic job for you.
