Sailing Through the Panama Canal by Jolly Sienda Photography and Studio

Did you know it takes nearly a day to pass through the Panama Canal with it’s three locks and Gatun Lake? Last March 2025, Rich and I with about 1,000 passengers including crew members sailed on the Holland America Zaandam ship entering the area and waiting our turn at about 6 am on the Atlantic Ocean and finishing on the Pacific Ocean after 7 pm. For us, it was an unforgettable journey to see and experience this master engineering feet. Below are photos of our day.

Antigua Guatemala Photojournalism by Jolly Sienda Photography and Studio

Oh my heart! Visiting Antigua, Guatemala was a dream to come. It was our favorite country stop during our 15-day Central America and Panama Canal cruise, March 2025. The ancient Spanish colonial old town of Antigua is rich with culture, history, old world charm and photojournalist opportunities. The people, the colors, beautiful handmade tapestries, cobblestone stone streets, cathedrals and public squares are enchanting. And, the views of the active volcano Volcán de Fuego, Volcano of Fire, is seen from the town. I will visit Guatemala again. We barely scratched the surface - but this trip gave us a beautiful taste of what there is there. I love it so much! Photos by Jolly Sienda Photography and Studio.

A Pacific Northwest Autumn Has Great Color - Just Look For It! Photos by Jolly Sienda Photography.com

Visiting the town of Port Gamble, Washington does not disappoint when it comes to vibrant orange, red, and yellow colors. Maple Trees planted along the main street add a pretty line to the white picket fences and historic homes of Port Gamble, founded in 1853. Visit the Buena Vista Cemetery too, circa 1956. Can be a little spooky with foggy weather. Two weeks later, we took a trip up to Lake Crescent and were delighted to see yellow and orange Larch trees spotted throughout the evergreens, entwined with some whisper fog. Lake Crescent was spectacular at at sunrise with brilliant color, some fog, and such crystal clear water. Lastly, the Norwegian town of Poulsbo, Washington with autumn foliage. Happy Autumn! Autumn Sweet Family Fairy Tales do Come True for the Tibbetts Family by Jolly Sienda Photography and Studio

Once upon a time in an autumn leaf forested land there was a sweet family: Megan, Joshua, Natalie and Mikey — the Tibbetts. They had dreamed and hoped for a crisp, sunshine-filled fall day where they could play together, lay down in the leaves, and share the natural beauty of nature together. Fabulous Tulips, Portraits, and Painters at Roozengaarde at the Mount Vernon Tulip Festival

Do you like seeing beautiful rows of multi-colored tulips that stretch for miles? Then, grab the kids, your phone and a camera and explore the gorgeous flower gardens at Roozengaarde in Mount Vernon, Washington. Spring sprung early this year, 2024, and the tulips are huge and so colorful! When I was there this week with photographer friends from the Kitsap Photography Guild, we entered the gardens at 10 am and spent two hours roaming around the tulip fields. Organizing and getting together five kids, mom and dad, and stuffed animal kitty with coordinating fall outfits for a photoshoot is just another family day for Andrea and her hubby Matt, as they live life to the fullest with their children: Nyla, Elizabeth (Lizzy), Christopher, Henry, and Amelia (Mimi). Meet Kennedy Selby, 2024 H.S. Senior, and Her Frenchton Doggy Chloe by Jolly Sienda Photography and Studio

I had a super time this week taking senior photos of Kennedy with her sweet 14-week old Frenchton puppy named Chloe. Kennedy is a senior high school student at Central Kitsap High School and is a member of the 2024 graduating class. She loves dogs, the Selby family has three, and she does volunteer work for Toys for Tots in her spare time. After graduation, Kennedy aspires to enter the field of cosmetology. At Kennedy’s photoshoot we took advantage of a beautiful autumn afternoon, and also had photos done in my photography studio. Here are some photo highlights from her photo shoot. Once upon a time, there was a lady named Lorraine (Lori) and a man named Brad, and they found each other again after leading separate lives. They fell in love and they had two weddings! The first wedding was held in the spring of 2023 in Annapolis, Maryland and their second wedding and party was held at their lovely waterfront home in Washington state.
