A new baby boy bundle of joy arrived just two months ago! Friends, Megan and Joshua, asked me to celebrate with them and take some family photographs at my Bremerton studio. Photos tips for the New Year - Capturing Light and Using Lightroom

Light is essential to photography and if you have a photography studio, like I do to control the light you can create some amazing pictures. But, what if you’re outside and the weather is not cooperating. You can wait for the light, come back another day, or experiment with the light and use tools in Lightroom that may give you some really pleasing results.

Some tips: Shoot in RAW and use manual mode for purest image quality and to control the aperture and shutter speed. To avoid camera shake use a tripod. In studio I use a tripod and for very low light and longer light exposures I use a tripod. Experiment with the levels in Lightroom for clarity, texture, tone, shadow, contrast, and saturation.

Poulsbo, Washington's Little Norway Provides Rich Culture and Fun for the Family!

Have you ever visited Poulsbo, Washington? It’s a Norwegian-style town settled in the late 1800’s by Europeans from Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany. The town is known for its Norwegian old fashioned flair, vikings, colorful painted buildings, inviting boat marina, walk-able streets, restaurants, and shops. In the summer and winter there are viking festivals and art festivals on the marina. Families gather at the Austin Kvelstad Pavilion for picnics and in the summertime art festivals and musicians often entertain on the weekend from the pavilion. Liberty Bay provides a great area for boating, kayaking, water-sports, and a fireworks display over the 4th of July holiday.

Bainbridge Island Family Portraits and Paddle Boarding = Summer FUN!!!

Rich and I had the pleasure of doing annual family portraits for the EBaugh family with the beautiful, coastal landscape around Bainbridge Island and the Puget Sound. The family loves to paddle board and is enjoying the summer months outside, on the water, as much as possible. We had fun with them capturing these moments.

Did you know you should update your business career photos every year or two? Having new professional headshots done shows others you’re current and want to connect with them. I enjoyed photographing my friend and business associate Tracy Bell, Senior Loan Officer, Priority Home Lending, in Poulsbo, Washington. It had been awhile since she had any professional pictures done for her business card and website and she wanted up-to-date headshots using a dark background. We also had time in our appointment to do some fun portraits of her outdoors using nature’s floral background and the ivy at our gazebo. Married on a Leap Day in a Leap Year 2020 - I DO!

Cute lovebirds tie the knot, their own way, on February 29, 2020. The ceremony for Marina and Noah was privately held at the Port Orchard Court House followed by a fun family photo session at Liberty Bay Waterfront Park, Port of Poulsbo. The couple and their family had their A-game on for the fun and sweet wedding family photo session despite some cold rain, hail, wind, and sunshine.
